Summer Legislative Update

Greetings,

August is a busy month for the State Legislature as all proposed legislation from the 2025-2026 two-year session must be considered and voted on by August 31st or otherwise fail.

I have 13 bills still moving through the legislative process this year, and I’m very proud that two bills I’ve authored have already been signed into law:

  • SB 1036 helps to make building new housing more affordable by ensuring developments are not over-charged certain impact fees

  • SB 97 strengthens regulatory oversight of stablecoins and digital financial assets, promoting transparency, consumer confidence, and responsible innovation

If you would like additional information on state legislation, or need assistance navigating a problem with a state agency, my office can be of service to you!
