Summer Break Free Meals Available

Dear Oakland and San Leandro Residents,

Last year, my bill SB 364, Free School Meals for All, established California as the first state in the nation to offer two free meals each day to all K-12 public school students while school is in session. Now that school has recessed for the summer, the cities of Oakland and San Leandro have taken up the charge and are offering free meals during the summer break at numerous locations for youth ages 18 and younger.

Below is a list of the free summer meals sites in Oakland and San Leandro. I will send separately an email that lists the other free summer meal sites in Berkeley, Richmond, Alameda, and West Contra Costa.

The Oakland and San Leandro free summer meals sites are open to all youth 18 and under. The Oakland sites are also open to adults 19 and older with disabilities who are enrolled in a school program.

I urge you to also please share this list with families in need in Oakland and San Leandro. No child should go hungry just because school is out of session.
