SB 301 Online Marketplaces: Retail Theft: As more and more of our shopping is done on the internet, organized retail theft rings are doing the same: selling stolen goods online. SB 301 requires internet marketplaces to verify the source of goods they sell.
SB 364 School Meals for All II: This school year, CA became the first state to offer free meals to all students at our public schools. SB 364 builds on this success by ensuring food access even when school is not in session.
SB 641 CalFresh for College Students Act: Federal law creates a lot of red tape for low-income college students to receive food assistance through CalFresh. SB 641 removes many application barriers so college students don't have to go hungry.
SB 746 Reporting Political Content Curated by Online Platforms: CA's campaign finance laws require companies or individuals to file reports that disclose when money is spent or other activity is engaged in to influence an election. SB 746 updates those laws to include reporting by internet platforms when they direct content in order to influence voters.
SB 854 The HOPE for Children Act: An estimated 27,000 CA children lost a parent or primary caregiver to COVID-19. SB 854 creates HOPE Account trust funds for these children and for long-term foster youth. It also creates a state benefit for children who don't qualify for federal Social Security Survivor benefits after their parent passes away.
SB 875 Reducing Bias in Parole Hearings: Modeled after a recent law that seeks to lessen implicit bias in our state criminal justice system, SB 875 extends that same objective to our state parole review process.
SB 878 Road to Success: CA is dead last when it comes to providing rides to school. Having no transportation is the number one reason elementary grade students miss school. SB 878 will ensure that all students, grades TK-12, have the option of a free bus ride to and from their public school.
SB 905 Decarbonizing Cement: New federal and state investments have kickstarted infrastructure projects. Cement, a necessary ingredient of those projects, is carbon intensive. SB 905 will allow CA cement manufacturing facilities to pilot capturing the carbon released from cement making and store it geologically.
SB 960 Expanding Eligibility for Peace Officers: SB 906 will remove the rule that prevents California law enforcement agencies from hiring noncitizen residents who have full legal work authorization and meet all other requirements to serve as peace officers.

SB 1010 Clean State Fleets: The state of CA owns about 40,000 vehicles, most of which are still fueled by climate- and air-polluting gas or diesel. SB 1010 accelerates the state's purchase of zero emission cars and trucks.
SB 1063 Flexibility for Energy Innovation: Heat waves, drought, and more stress CA's electricity and water supplies. New technology and appliance standards can reduce water and electricity demand, lessening that stress. SB 1063 allows new efficiency rules by the CA Energy Commission to take effect more quickly.
SB 1075 Green Hydrogen: Long-haul trucking, air travel and port operations are challenging to decarbonize. SB 1075 jumpstarts CA's use of green hydrogen, a multi-faceted fuel and energy source that is suitable for many sectors, can maintain good-paying jobs, and take advantage of federal infrastructure dollars.
SB 1083 Helping Families out of Homelessness: State-funded programs, like Project Homekey, are working to end family homelessness. SB 1075 builds on that success by giving homeless families more time to stay in temporary housing so they can successfully secure long-term housing.
SB 1115 Women in Construction: CA currently faces a significant shortage of construction workers, and women remain underrepresented in the trades. SB 1115 expands and improves opportunities for women in construction trades.
SB 1142 Expanding Access to Abortion Services (Joint Author): More than 25 states now have laws that restrict abortions and there is growing concern the U.S. Supreme Court's conservative majority may overturn Roe v. Wade. SB 1142 expands and enhances access to reproductive care, not only for Californians, but for those who seek abortion services here.
SB 1200 Relieving Legal Debt: CA families burdened with insurmountable debt are vulnerable to court judgements that require a 10% interest rate, on top of interest already accrued, and empower creditors to collect by tapping wages, bank accounts and more. SB 1200 would reduce the interest rates on those legal judgments and prevent such judgments from being renewed indefinitely.
SB 1206 HFCs: Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), the coolant commonly used in refrigerators and air conditioners, are a powerful climate pollutant. Although once released in the atmosphere, HFCs are short-lived, they are thousands of times more damaging than CO2. SB 1206 will accelerate the transition to less harmful HFCs and alternative coolants.
