Dear Constituent,
If you or anyone in your family does not currently have health insurance or healthcare coverage, now is the time to sign up.
Very affordable policies, costing as low as $10 a month or less, are available now through Covered California, California's health insurance exchange. In fact, two out of three Californians qualify for policies at the lowest costs.
The deadline to sign up for this health insurance is Monday, Jan. 31. Go here to enroll.
Thanks to President Biden's American Rescue Plan of 2021, funding for affordable healthcare coverage was made available to help ensure that none of us are left without healthcare during this pandemic.
Since the American Rescue Plan was enacted last year, 1.8 million Californians have signed up for healthcare insurance through Covered California. But hundreds of thousands of Californians are still uninsured. Please help me spread the word that no one needs to be uninsured, because high-quality, affordable healthcare coverage is available now through Covered California.
This open enrollment ends Monday, Jan. 31. After Monday, Californians can only sign up for health insurance if they have what's known as a "qualifying event," such as losing a job, getting married, or having a new baby.
And if you or a family member feel you might qualify for Medi-Cal, the state's free or very low-cost healthcare program for low-income residents, the best way to apply is through Covered California. The enrollment process is the same, and once you've submitted your application, Covered California will determine the programs you qualify for. Some households qualify for both.
Signing up now will provide you or your family member health care coverage beginning Tuesday, Feb. 1. You can enroll online at CoveredCA.com, or call (800) 300-1506, or use one of the thousands of licensed agents or nonprofits that also provide this service. You can find a certified enroller here.
Please don't wait. Sign up now for affordable, quality healthcare insurance through Covered California by Monday, Jan. 31.
Sincerely,
Nancy Skinner
