Dear Constituent,

My office will be holding a second telephone Town Hall tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, focused on financial relief actions for those who've lost jobs or had hours reduced, assistance for small businesses, and more that have been put into place as a result of our state and local response to coronavirus/COVID19.

The goal of this telephone Town Hall is to provide information on such financial relief actions as:

• Waiving one week wait period for unemployment benefits
• Streamlined Medi-Cal application process
• Federal Small Business Administration assistance for small businesses
• Federal suspension of foreclosures based on economic hardship for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other home loans
• Various city relief funds, and other city specific actions, that may relieve specific financial burdens residents are facing

My staff is collecting information on additional financial relief actions that are being put into place and all programs that we have up to date information on will be relayed during the town hall.

The telephone Town Hall is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30pm.

Participating experts are:

• Representative of the Federal Small Business Administration
• Employment Lawyer expert on Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance and Paid Family Leave
• Local City Officials who will describe financial relief programs that individual cities have established
• Senator Skinner who will describe other state and federal relief programs

Whatever questions we are unable to answer in the 1-hour time period will be responded to individually by my office.  

There is limited capacity for this call. Those who wish to participate will need to RSVP by 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24. After we receive your RSVP, a follow-up email will be sent to you with the call-in phone number and passcode.
