Column: Credit the Golden State for college athletes' new golden state after Supreme Court ruling

Back in 2019, the state Legislature passed a law that a California college athlete can benefit from his or her own name, image and likeness. The Fair Pay to Play Act was co-sponsored by state Sens. Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) and Steven Bradford (D-Gardena).
