Sen. Skinner Issues Statement on Being Named CA Senate Budget Chair

California state Sen. Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, released the following statement today on being appointed to be chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee:

“I’m deeply honored and want to thank Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins for this important appointment. As California continues to grapple with the devastating impacts of COVID-19, I look forward to a legislative budget process that is responsive to the economic distress the pandemic has inflicted on so many families and small businesses, and that ensures vital health care services are delivered equitably, our social safety net is strengthened, and education needs are met.”

Sen. Nancy Skinner represents the 9th Senate District, is the Senate majority whip, and is chair of the Senate Budget Committee.
